Basic Phenomena and Patterns Examples
Cool, warm, inflating, deflating, in-breath, out-breath, shallow breath, long breath, tension in the body, urge to move, restlessness, boredom, mind wandering, calmness, distraction, noise, and mind operating on its own without your permission.
Breath becoming long/deep on its own when you are aware of your breath. Body becoming relaxed when you are aware of your breath. Mind becoming calm and free when you are aware of your breath.
A Side Effect of Meditation
An incorrect use of meditation can result in undesirable effects. For example, one can meditate to eliminate the symptoms of life problems without addressing the cause. Then the cause remains and continues to create more problems in his life. It is like silencing a fire alarm without putting off the fire.
When you fight an urge, the urge becomes your enemy. When you obey an urge, the urge becomes your master. When you just be with an urge, the urge becomes harmless like passing wind.

One who knows he is breathing is higher in level than one who does not know he is breathing.

A low level person’s mind is restless.
A high level person’s mind is peaceful.
